So, I'm happy to see that, after Google's work on Orkut and Gmail, Blogger has gotten a serious update. The most noticeable new feature is that it supports comments. So, I've gone back and made several posts support posts, in case anyone has anything to say. For now, anonymous comments are allowed. We'll see if that causes a problem. Obviously, registered comments are preferred.
I'll be working on modifying my template to support comments. Let me know what you think about how it looks.
Other than that, you can also e-mail blog entries in, and the interface is much nicer. Plus some other little odds and ends. Anyhow, with this update, I'll be sticking with Blogger at least a bit longer. I'm excited!

Awesome! I wonder if it actually reposts your website everytime someone posts new comments. That could be an interesting load factor on their connections!
Well, notice the URL of the page with comments. It's a single URL for a page. So I believe it ftp's the page that the comment is added to. Hmm... I guess it might have to do other pages too though... to get the number of comment right...
Nevermind. I have no idea. I just notice it's much faster than when I add a new post, for whatever reasons...
Yeah, I'm not really sure how it works either. It updates at least the post entry page and the index page, but perhaps more. I'll have to check the FTP server logs sometime and see.
I do hate the fact that when you want to post comments it appears to force you to login, and even worse after you login, it still defaults to anonymous. If I wanted to post anonymously, I probably would have clicked the big button that says "Post as Anonymous" before I logged in!
Other than that, it appears to offer everything any other blogging software would, but with a nice Google-backed central database of your posts and comments.
Yeah, it really should default to your username when you're logged in.
I have just noticed blogger and I should admit that it's really a cool we toy. I was reading a review about the best blog sites and seems that the lycos version is favoured. After a visit to the lycos blog site, i think blogger is really good. It's something i'd recommend to a friend.
